Dove the first night, and then did two morning dives the following two days. Managed to do two hour long dives Saturday morning and a two hour dive on Sunday. Were able to explore most of the bridge, saw a lot of the usual life, angelfish, parrots and the common fish. There was also a few seahorses, frogfish, batfish and a bobbit worm which were exciting to see, unfortunately did not see any manatees.

Shark Canyon

What sounded like a cool dive ended up being a boring drift through the sand. Descended and found the reef and the smaller amphitheater. Waited for sharks with no luck, followed the guide to the larger amphitheater. However, the current pushed us off of the reef and spent the dive drifting along the sand without seeing much. There was a remora at the end…that was neat.

This was a much better dive than the first, and even cooler it was dive 1,100. A fun set of a few wrecks starting with the Mizphah, PC1170 and then the Amaryllis. We were able to see the China Barge at the end before we had to ascend. The Mizpah is 185’ and upright, intact with three levels for penetration. The PC1174 is 160’ and broken up into two pieces. All that remains of the Amaryllis is the 450’ hull and bottom deck. The China Barge is smaller barge.
There were three different goliath groupers and a reef shark hanging out on the different wrecks. The groupers were very vocal and could hear them “thumping” while trying to attract a mate.
