The quarry is under new management and has had lots of improvements since the last visit. The office and fill station have been completely redone and is much more efficient to check in and get fills than previously. Online waivers and vouchers speed up check in and instructors get free fills while teaching. During check in, air fills for the weekend are paid for and tracked via red or green tokens if instructor or student air fill.

There are three docks (4, 5, and 6) that are located on the shallow side, in about 40’ of water. The docks themselves have been updated and are a lot less likely to lead to death while getting in or out of the water. At night there are lights along the edge to help locate and get out of the water safely.  By the parking and the docks there are several picnic benches around to gear up and stage gear. Right behind the dock there is another staging area to help eliminate schlepping down slick, steep stairs with full gear.

The visibility of the water is surprisingly very nice and while there are only a few surface buoys, the airplane, helicopter and several other larger items are easily visible from the surface. The training platforms and submerged objects are easy to locate and have lines connecting them to make navigation easier. There are lots of fish, rainbow trout, blue gills, catfish, and bass are plentiful, and also have some paddle fish and sturgeon that are told to exist but have yet to be seen.

There is a very angry squirrel on the wall near the tubes that needs to be rediscovered. Be careful when hunting for the squirrel, murder is in the water.
